Dear Alumni,
March 25 Marked the purchase of the fraternity house formerly known as ACACIA at Shippensburg, 101 Brookside Ave. This was done in a partnership with the National fraternity's property group LCAP with financial backing from our own alumni association. As many of you remember this was the coolest house in Shippensburg and 2.97 acres came along with it to boot. This also marks the end of the long era of renting from random landlords throughout Shippensburg to make the dream of undergrads living in a house owned by Lambda Chi's for Lambda Chi's that Ed Gillman showed the fraternity in 1989 a reality.
We have many challenges ahead for everyone to keep our fraternity on top. The Alumni Association will be embarking on our first capital campaign to raise roughly 30 thousand dollars to outfit, upgrade and furnish the new house. This is a great challenge, but we are up to it In my estimation.
So when you get a chance to stop celebrating, think long and hard about how you can not only help the best fraternity at Ship with your wallet, but with your time. Come to the annual meeting on 4/18 and volunteer to help raise money, or help out with the chapter and alumni operations.
I have high expectations of our undergraduate chapter to make this project succeed, but my expectations are just as high for all of the alumni to give that undergrad chapter the first class financial support to make the fraternity just that much more successful. If you have any questions or want to know what more you can do to help, email me!
In the "101 Brookside is my chapter house now!" ZAX
