FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

LAMBDA CHI ALPHA PROPERTIES, INC. COMPLETES PURCHASE OF 101 BROOKSIDE AVE

March 25, 2004 – SHIPPENSBURG, PA – Lambda Chi Alpha Properties, Inc., an Indiana non-profit corporation, is pleased to announce that it has completed the purchase of 101 Brookside Avenue, Shippensburg. The property is a fraternity house currently occupied by the Acacia fraternity.

Lambda Chi Alpha Properties is the national house corporation for the Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity. It owns or manages fraternity houses on 15 campuses across North America. “The purchase of the Shippensburg property is part of our initiative to provide safe, professionally-managed housing for our members throughout the country” according to Joseph Klimek, Chief Operating Officer for the properties corporation.

The property on Brookside Avenue will eventually house the local Lambda Chi Alpha chapter. Locally, the Phi-Tau chapter of Lambda Chi Alpha has 40 student members and over 370 alumni members. It was founded locally in 1982 and has been in continuous operation throughout that time. The local chapter is involved with the community through an annual food drive, the adopt a highway program, and participation with other community groups.

Brenda Lutovsky, Shippensburg University Director of Greek affairs offered “I am excited about Lambda Chi Alpha Properties’ purchase of the Brookside Ave property for the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. A permanent house under LCAP’s management will certainly serve as a boon to the group as they continue to grow. Through this acquisition, it is our hope that Lambda Chi Alpha and LCAP will set the bar for other groups and how fraternity and sorority houses are used.”

The purchase of the property has been made possible with financial support of the alumni of the chapter. The purchase has been financed through M&T Bank. The fraternity house will provide living space for up to 20 students and has large common spaces that will host the entire student chapter.
