President, Lambda Chi Alpha Housing Corporation,
Greetings brothers!
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Dave Steinour, the newly
elected President of the Lamba Chi Alpha Housing Corporation at Shippensburg
University. My Zeta number is Phi Tau 289 and I was privileged to have
associated during the Spring 1995 semester. As an undergraduate, I was
fortunate to serve as the High Delta (Rush Chairman), the High Tau
(Treasurer), and the High Alpha (President). This is my third year on the
Housing Corporation as an alumnus serving as Member at Large and Treasurer
previously.
I am proud and honored to serve this great Fraternity this year as
President. I am looking forward to this being a very memorable year where
Phi Tau Zeta takes great strides to further establish itself as the elite
Fraternity at Shippensburg University and one of the elite chapters of
Lambda Chi Alpha in the Northeast. We have many goals planned for the
upcoming academic year.
#1-A new and improved web site in the very near future.
This web site will be easier to access, will provide even more, up to date
information, and will be both more ergonomically friendly and aesthetically
appealing.
#2- A Policies and Procedures Manual for the Housing Corporation. This will
allow us become a more efficiently and consistently run organization.
#3 - We also plan on continued improvement of increasing the assets of the
entire
organization. It is incredible to even fathom how much the entire
Fraternity's cash position has improved in the past three years. The
undergraduates are completely caught up in their bills to Internationals and
have a surplus to spare. The Alumni Association has replaced the relatively
"not liquid" CD with a "completely liquid" Money Market Account. The
Housing Corporation now has a substantial growing balance actively invested
in one of the premier mutual funds. This last year was a record year with
respect to fundraising; we raised over $5,000.00 for the entire Fraternity!
You as alumni and undergraduates are the reason for these successes.
In closing, I want to digress back several weeks to our 20th
Anniversary Banquet. This was the single most impressive Fraternity
sponsored event that I have ever had the privilege of being part of. I
appreciate all of your participation and look forward to your continued
involvement. This event instantly energized me and made me want to
contribute more to the improvement of this already impressive organization.
